Bill Gates, Microsoft Corporation co-founder and Co-Chairman of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, today met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi. Gates, who is on an India visit met PM Modi ahead of governmentâ€™s think tank Niti Aayogâ€™s initiative to strengthen states. During the meeting, they had discussions on various topics. Gates was scheduled to address Indiaâ€™s top policy makers as part of Niti Aayogâ€™s lecture series on â€˜Transforming Indiaâ€™.
Later in the day, Gates also met Niti Aayog vice chairman Dr Arvind Pangariya and CEO Amitabh Kant before addressing Niti Lectures: Transforming India â€“ the first part of this event was inaugurated by PM Modi in August.
Behind inviting Gates as a guest speaker at the event, governmentâ€™s premier think tankâ€™s motive was to bring the increasing use of technology in governmentâ€™s policies to build a strong Indian economy and bolster its infrastructure.
